Week's End Report - Jan. 27th

Tip of the Week!

This week online instructors will be receiving emails notifying them of the results of online course checks. Please know that the checks are done only to make sure that our students are receiving the correct information each semester. Receiving an email from us doesn't mean you're in trouble!

A lot of faculty still tell us they don't know where to go to find the correct information. We send out emails to all faculty at the beginning of the semester which include information about setting up your courses, access for the first few chapters of textbooks from some publishers, any changes in policy or procedure, and other important information. Please be sure to review these emails!

If you missed the e-mail, here is the link for the Getting Started website:
https://sites.google.com/site/ivytechlafayetteidc/getting-started

When you get to the website you'll see a section that begins:
"If you're ready to start setting up your course(s) for the semester, click on the link for the type of course you're teaching:"

Below that heading are two options:
  • I'm teaching a Face-to-Face course
  • I'm teaching an Online or Hybrid course
Click the link that applies for the type of course you're teaching (you may need both!)

The first link on both pages is the course setup checklist for that course type (the dates are different for the different course types so be sure to use the proper list).

There's also a course check demo video on the Getting Started website, which walks you through a course check and explains exactly what we're looking for and why. You can watch the full video (~18 minutes) or click the links to go directly to specific parts of the video.
